Olympic Rider in Jorvik
May the Moorland stable hand was so excited to hear the news, she couldn't wait to tell me about it. Reed Kessler is here in Jorvik! Really? I know of her, she is an accomplished real life Olympic Show Jumping competitor.
At 18 years old, Reed qualified for the 2012 London Olympics, becoming the youngest rider in Show Jumping history to ever compete at the Games. She is here with us training in the riding hall arena below the Silverglade winery. WOW!
Sadly May won't have a chance to meet her idol....sigh.. and asked for a favor
I would not miss this for the world, what a privilege it is to have Reed here with us in Jorvik. I wasted no time and rode over to the Riding Hall to meet her.
Olympic Riding Lesson with Reed Kessler
Why don't you show me your riding and then maybe I can give you a few tips?
Ok, go to the start and ride like a champion. Good Luck!
Reed was happy to watch me ride to the finish of the Baroness's first show jumping course.
Well done! You managed the course really well. There was one little thing I noticed. When you are approaching the obstacles,
if you do THIS, instead of THIS ... then your horse will be better positioned for the jump. You understand? Excellent!
An autograph for a fan
I hope I see you again, but right now I have to get back to my training. An autograph?
Of course! Who is it for? May? OK Here, I hope May likes it. See you soon.
I ride back to May with the autograph from Reed, she will be delighted I am sure.
You got an autograph?
Hurray! An autograph from Reed Kessler!
Thank you! I'm going to put this up on my wall!
